Money Trail Championship Chutes Out Recap

CHAMPIONSHIP WEEKEND EDITION OF CHUTES OUT WEEKEND RECAP. When you think of big champion events in sports, the Super Bowl, World Series and Stanley Cup final come to mind. For fans of the fast track to fun, each year we have our own championship weekend for our hometown heroes, the Money Trail Racers. On Saturday, August 15th many of our hometown heroes came out to Maple Grove for the second to last day of the season for the money trail. The sky’s were overcast and cool temperatures kept racers happy with great track conditions all day. In Trophy Eliminator, Don Stilley who only started racing for points this year picked up his first career win at Maple Grove, over former Top Bike Champion, Bob Bechtel. Sportsman Eliminator saw Adam Werner return to the winner circle after defeating CJ Ketterer in the final. Top Bike saw Shane Hartman pick up his third win of the season when he defeated Derek Cesari in the final. The Jr. Street Class saw Austin Youndt deny Robert Murphy III his second straight Jr. Street win when Austin took home the win. In Pro Eliminator, Young Gun Kyle Robb picked up the win over longtime racer Bob Ormsbee. In Super, Jason Amey denied a father son double up when he beat Kevin Robb in the final. The Jr. Dragster Class was busy all day with running not one, but two races all in one single day. In race one, newly crowned Division 1 Champ Kelsey Brinckman defeated Braylon Kuhn in the final. By the time the Finals came around for race two both race one finalist were on the trailer. The finals in race two came down between Garret Sprague and Michael Artim with the Eastern Conference champion Sprague taking the win. After racing was completed a special King Of The Track shootout was held for the winners in both Super, Pro, Sportsman, and Top Bike. When it came time to run the finals both Kyle Robb and Shane Hartman were the last two standing with Kyle Robb picking up the 2020 Maple Grove King of the Track. Due to rain, Sunday August 16th, the hard working and dedicated staff at Maple Grove made the difficult decision to cancel the days racing action after continuous efforts to dry the track. With the cancellation of racing on Sunday, the points for our hometown heroes are finalized.
