OFF THE TRAILER CHUTES OUT RECAP. It all started with a hmm. The idea of a unique event in which there would be no time trials, just strictly eliminations for some big bucks. On Saturday, August 22nd, Maple Grove Raceway held one of its most unique races in 58 years of existence with the first ever Off The Trailer race. The beautiful sunny skies that greeted the many hometown heroes that came out for this big money race were treated to a great day of racing. In Super, 2019 Track Champion Bob Murphy Jr. dominated eliminations making it to the semis in not one, but two entries and would go on to win over Young Gun Kyle Robb in the final for a $5,000 paycheck. In Pro Eliminator, Marty Flegal is a name feared by many in the big money drag racing scene. On Saturday, he added the Off The Trailer Pro Eliminator win to his resume when he defeated Robert Reinert in the final for a $5,000 paycheck. A special consolation race was held for losers from first to fourth round. When it was all said and done two former track champions, Jed Knarr and Austin Youndt were the last two standing with Knarr picking up the win over Youndt who red lighted in the final. On Friday night as a prelude to the Off The Trailer race on Saturday, a special gamblers race was held with Austin Youndt and Nate Beideman making it to the finals. Unfortunately due to the curfew on Friday the final was not run and both drivers split the money. Join in on congratulating your hometown heroes who made Maple Grove Raceway history this weekend!
