Come Race With Us!
ET Series
The ET Series is Maple Grove Raceway’s bracket program. The Series consists of five (5) race classes that range from young kids to the most experienced racers and are as followed: Top, Modified, Sportsman, Motorcycle, and Junior Dragster. For a more complete breakdown of the specifics for each class requirement, please refer to our Racer Handbook.
We encourage racers to join our ET Series by signing up for the points earning program at the beginning of the season. This is only encouraged and not required in order to participate in the ET Series events listed on our season schedule. The benefits of joining the points earning program include participation on Team Maple Grove for Bracket Finals and end of the year payouts for track Champions and top finishers. Racers who joined the points program earn points for every ET Series event their participate in based off how many rounds they complete. A full explanation of how many points are awarded for those events can be found in our Racer Handbook. The top racers at the end of the season will be eligible to compete at the Bracket Finals. Which is held at a different track each year.
For more information regarding the ET Series or how to join the points program, feel free to email us at info@maplegroveraceway.com or call our office 610-856-9200.
Youth Programs
Maple Grove Raceway encourages children and young adults to participate in the sport of drag racing. We offer several programs and events geared toward young racers which includes Teen Championship Racing and Junior Dragster competition.
What is Teen Championship Racing???
Teen Championship Racing (TCR)
TCR allows youth ages 13 to 17 the opportunity to race against their peers in
full-bodied street vehicles, with no need to buy a special vehicle. A Co-Driver
accompanies the TCR on all runs to act as a coach and to join in the fun. The
TCR program is an inexpensive way for families to get involved in drag racing
and another chance for parents to cultivate a close working relationship with
their children.
TCR participants receive an IHRA Rule Book and excess medical coverage good
at IHRA Member Tracks at IHRA sanctioned events.
All races are conducted over a distance of 1/8 mile with an ET dial-in format,
limited to 9.00 seconds and slower. TCR drivers may not compete in any other
class except Jr. Dragster.
What is a Junior Dragster???
The IHRA Junior Drag Racing League offers kids ages 5-17 a chance to race a half-scale dragsters in a controlled environment at many of IHRA member tracks throughout the United States and Canada. They can start racing a junior dragster long before they are able to obtain a state driver’s license. Membership in the Junior Drag Racing League is required for competition.
These half-scale dragsters are named such given they resemble half of a top fuel dragster. Using a five-horsepower, single-cylinder engine, a Junior Dragster can go as fast as 85 miles per hour and as quick as 7.50 seconds in the eighth-mile. Keep in mind the younger the racer, the slower times and speeds they are restricted to.
Many of the IHRA member tracks offer weekly Jr. Drag Racing League programs including Maple Grove Raceway. These programs allow kids to race by earning points toward a track championship.
