Werner honored at NED banquet

It took Maple Grove Raceway’s Paul Werner nearly a quarter-of-a-century to win anything at a ¬†Summit Racing E.T. Finals, but he finally earned his trophy in 2012.

The perennial Street Division champion in the Sunoco Race Fuels Money Trail E.T. Series, Werner was able to win at the next level at last year’s NHRA Northeast Division E.T. Finals.

He won the Race of Champions in Street and received his Wally this past Saturday at the NED Banquet at the Hershey Lodge.

“Hopefully, it won’t take another 24 years to win the overall championship,” Werner said during his acceptance speech.

Maple Grove was also honored for its 50th anniversary. MGR vice president/general manager Lex Dudas was presented with a special plaque from the NED.
