Joe Stuebner gets to Victory Lane

Joe Stuebner gets his first victory of the season.

Over the years, PPC Lubricants Victory was a familiar place for Joe Stuebner.

The motorcycle rider from Hamburg, Pa., has also won a handful of season titles in the Ray’s Yamaha Top Bike class on the Sunoco Race Fuels Money Trail E.T. Series.

In 2013, he’s made his share of appearances, cheering the four Top Bike victories by Cory Stuebner, his son and competitor.

Lorish takes Super

Scott Lorish wins Super.

Scott Lorish won his first race of the season in Goldrush Trailers Super Eliminator Saturday as the Sunoco Race Fuels Money Trail E.T. Series held it’s 13th scheduled race of the season at Maple Grove Raceway.

Lorish (Center Valley, Pa.) drove his ’99 Cressman dragster past Mike Daniels (Devon, Pa.) in the final with a pass of 7.655 at 172.01 that was .015 over his dial-in.

Lorish made the semifinal when Frank Given (Honey Brook, Pa.) fouled in the quarterfinals, and then beat David Daniels (Carbondale, Pa.) in the semifinals by going .013 over his dial. Mike Daniels beat Ray Galie (Havertown, Pa.) in the quarters and Nick Daniels (Malvern, Pa.) in the semis. More >

Grudge, Money Trail this weekend

After taking over a month off, the Sunoco Race Fuels Money Trail E.T. Series will be back in action this weekend.

The weekend kicks off Friday night with Auto Locator Grudge Racing. Those wanting to see what their car can do on a racetrack are welcome to enter Maple Grove’s gates after 4 p.m. Racing begins promptly at 5. Admission is $20 for street driven cars and $25 for entries on a trailer. Spectators are $10 with children 12 and under free.

The 13th Sunoco Race Fuels Money Trail race of the season gets underway Saturday with gates opening at 9 a.m. and time trials at 10. Eliminations will begin immediately after the second time run.

Sunday’s gates open at 8 a.m. with time trials at 9. Eliminations will follow two time shots.

Spectators for Money Trail events are $15; teens ages 13-15 are $10; and children 12 and under are free.

Rain washes out the Money Trail

Due to rainy weather Saturday morning and the good chance of even more bad weather later in the afternoon, Maple Grove Raceway has canceled the Sunoco Race Fuels Money Trail E.T. race.

Racing will resume Sunday morning with a Test and Tune along with the No Time Showdown. Gates open at 8 a.m. with racing beginning at 9 a.m.

Keep your cool while watching the race

Attention Money Trail Racers and fans!  The heat got us all last weekend and we’re going to offer you something to cool you off!

You may purchase a seat in a suite on the second floor of the Auto-Plus tower for just $25.

Just purchase an armband from Kathy Phillips and you may come and go as you please during the action.

The $25 does not include a pit pass cost and no outside food or beverage may be brought into the suite.  You’re welcome to bring in drinks or food purchased at the Nitro Grill and enjoy the racing.  

Ladies Night, Money Trail, test and tune, No Time Showdown on tap

Maple Grove Raceway will feature local racers in action this weekend.

The weekend kicks off Friday night with Auto Locator Grudge Racing. Those wanting to see what their car can do on a racetrack are welcome to enter Maple Grove’s gates after 4 p.m. Racing begins promptly at 5.

It’s also Ladies Night on Friday! All female spectators will be admitted free for the evening; the offer doesn’t apply to a race entry.

MGR’s main concession stand, the Nitro Grill, will offer a Ladies Special and there will be a DJ from I-105 FM.

Ladies will also be able to take part in a special “Powder Puff” race. The field will be limited to the first 16 ladies to sign up in the bottom of the tower with a 4-foot trophy going to the winner and a 3-foot trophy to the runner-up. All powder puff entries must purchase a $20 tech card to enter the race.

The No Time Showdown is a special grudge race in which racers pair up to simply see who is faster. It’s a head’s up format with no elapsed time or speed on the scoreboard. The only thing the racer will see is the win light along with the time slip.
