The Sunoco Race Fuels Money Trail, which features the best of regional drag racing, will conclude its 2013 season Saturday with the season finale at Maple Grove Raceway.
There will also be a special feature at the end of the race to crown the new King of the Track. On Sunday, the future of drag racing will be in the spotlight with the Junior Dragster Challenge. More >
It was a long weekend of racing at Maple Grove Raceway, and when it was over, over a dozen drivers were able to make their way to PPC Lubricants Victory Lane.
The Grove held its annual Super Circuit Shootout, which was moved from its original May weekend by rain, combined with the Sunoco Race Fuels Money Trail. Along with the bracket classes, there were races each day in Super Comp, Super Gas, Super Street and Stock-Super Stock. More >
Everyone at Maple Grove Raceway on Saturday worked the late shift. Racing wasn’t completed until curfew was looming, but Sunoco Race Fuels Money Trail 15 was finished with a few minutes to spare.
For the most part.
Winners were crowned in six of seven eliminators. The only one that didn’t send a victor to PPC Lubricants Victory Lane was Goldrush Trailers Super, which was stopped after three rounds due to track conditions after the air temperature dropped. More >
Local racers will be back on the spotlight this weekend at Maple Grove Raceway as the Sunoco Race Fuels Money Trail E.T. Series returns with another doubleheader Saturday and Sunday.
This weekend’s schedule starts on Friday with the popular Auto Locator Grudge Racing. Gates open at 4 p.m. with racing from 5 to 10. Admission is $25 for towed entries, $20 for drive-up entries, $10 for spectators while children 12-and-under are free with paid adult.
On Saturday, Maple Grove’s local racers will return for the 15th edition of the Sunoco Race Fuels Money Trail.
The East Coast Stock/Super Stock Association will be on hand for both days to run the final two races of the ATI Stock/Super Stock Shootout.
NHRA Lucas Oil Series racers will be on hand Saturday and Sunday for the Super Circuit Shootout. Classes running over the weekend also include the Mid Atlantic Super Gas and Mid Atlantic Super Comp series, along with newly formed Mid Atlantic Super Street series.
Gates will open Saturday at 9 a.m. with time trials at 10 a.m. and eliminations to follow two time shots. Sunday’s gates open at 8 a.m. with time trials at 9 and eliminations to follow after two time shots. Spectators are $15 with children 12-and-under free with a paid adult.
Over the years, PPC Lubricants Victory was a familiar place for Joe Stuebner.
The motorcycle rider from Hamburg, Pa., has also won a handful of season titles in the Ray’s Yamaha Top Bike class on the Sunoco Race Fuels Money Trail E.T. Series.
In 2013, he’s made his share of appearances, cheering the four Top Bike victories by Cory Stuebner, his son and competitor.

Scott Lorish won his first race of the season in Goldrush Trailers Super Eliminator Saturday as the Sunoco Race Fuels Money Trail E.T. Series held it’s 13th scheduled race of the season at Maple Grove Raceway.
Lorish (Center Valley, Pa.) drove his ’99 Cressman dragster past Mike Daniels (Devon, Pa.) in the final with a pass of 7.655 at 172.01 that was .015 over his dial-in.
Lorish made the semifinal when Frank Given (Honey Brook, Pa.) fouled in the quarterfinals, and then beat David Daniels (Carbondale, Pa.) in the semifinals by going .013 over his dial. Mike Daniels beat Ray Galie (Havertown, Pa.) in the quarters and Nick Daniels (Malvern, Pa.) in the semis. More >
