Maple Grove Raceway will feature local racers in action this weekend.

The weekend kicks off Friday night with Auto Locator Grudge Racing. Those wanting to see what their car can do on a racetrack are welcome to enter Maple Grove’s gates after 4 p.m. Racing begins promptly at 5.

It’s also Ladies Night on Friday! All female spectators will be admitted free for the evening; the offer doesn’t apply to a race entry.

MGR’s main concession stand, the Nitro Grill, will offer a Ladies Special and there will be a DJ from I-105 FM.

Ladies will also be able to take part in a special “Powder Puff” race. The field will be limited to the first 16 ladies to sign up in the bottom of the tower with a 4-foot trophy going to the winner and a 3-foot trophy to the runner-up. All powder puff entries must purchase a $20 tech card to enter the race.

Admission is $20 for street driven cars and $25 for entries on a trailer. Spectators are $10 with children 12 and under free.

The 12th Sunoco Race Fuels Money Trail race of the season gets underway Saturday with gates opening at 9 a.m. and time trials at 10. Eliminations will begin immediately after the second time run.

Spectators for Money Trail events are $15; teens ages 13-15 are $10; and children 12 and under are free.

Sunday’s race will feature a Test and Tune along with the No Time Showdown.

The No Time Showdown is a special grudge race in which racers pair up to simply see who is faster. It’s a head’s up format with no elapsed time or speed on the scoreboard. The only thing the racer will see is the win light along with the time slip.

Admission is $20 for street driven cars and $25 for entries on a trailer. Spectators are $10 with children 12 and under free.
