Maple Grove Raceway moves into its summer schedule with even more races for weekend warriors, junior dragsters and those simply wanting to see what their car can do.

The weekend’s big race is a special 3K Summer Shootout money race, along with a 20th anniversary Junior Dragster event, will be held Sunday, July 8.

The weekend kicks off Friday night with Grudge Racing along with its companion Run Tuff race. Those wanting to see what their car can do on a racetrack are welcome to enter Maple Grove’s gates after 4 p.m. Racing begins promptly at 5. Admission is $20 for street driven cars and $25 for entries on a trailer. Spectators are $10 with children 12 and under free.

The seventh Sunoco Race Fuels Money Trail gets underway Saturday with gates opening at 9 a.m. and time trials at 10. Eliminations will begin immediately after the second time run.

Spectators for Money Trail events are $15; teens ages 13-15 are $10; and children 12 and under are free.

The 3K Summer Shootouts has a guaranteed first prize of $3,000 for the winners of the Electronics (7.00 seconds and up) and the Footbrake (9.00 seconds and up) classes. The runners-up in each class gets $1,000 each and $50 round money starting in round 3.

The Junior Dragster birthday race will feature champions in five different age groups. The winners will then race each other for a special King (or Queen) of the Track overall champion.

Gates open at 8 a.m. with time trials at 9 and eliminations to follow.

Entry for Shootout racers is $80 car and driver. There will be buybacks after round 1 for $40. Junior Dragsters are $35.

Spectator/crew admission is $15 with teens ages 13-15 admitted for $10 and children 12 and under free with paid adult.
