Roger Sinistri Sr., of Spring Township, Pa., passed away April 7 at age 79. Sinistri was inducted into Maple Grove Raceway’s Walk of Fame in 2006 and also was voted into the Eastern Motorsport Press Association’s Hall of Fame.

A self-employed professional engine builder and tuner, Sinistri won Top Stock Eliminator class at the 1968 NHRA U.S. Nationals at Indianapolis with driver Larry Lombardo in the famous “Buckshot” Corvette. Lombardo went on to set several national records in 1969 using Sinistri horsepower.

He is survived by wife Patricia (Reigle), children Sherry (Fellen), Annamarie (Boyer) and Roger Jr., and five grandchildren.

Services will be held April 11 at the  Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home in West Reading with burial in Forest Hills Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, 1 Reed St., Suite 200, Philadelphia, PA 19147.
