MULLANEY SCORES AT 10K
FOOTBRAKE EVENT…………
Maple Grove Raceway 10/29/05
– After being rained out on its original date (10/9), the rescheduled event was
met with great enthusiasm and decent weather. Although there was a slight chill
in the air, over 300 Heavy Footbrake racers took part in the yearend big money
event. Nine rounds of racing were on tap with solid hardcore racing round by
round. The field was full of many great racecars in what looked like a rolling
car show of classic muscle machines. The wide array of classics ranged from
AMX’s, Camaros, Mustangs and Dodge Chargers and Chevelles all tuned and ready
for action! When the smoked finally cleared, longtime standout racer, Bob
Mullaney ended up in the winner’s circle. Mullaney, hailing out of Rockaway, NJ
motored to the win with a great .014 reaction time, 9.068 elapsed time on his
9.06 dial-in. Mullaney, driving a 1972 Chevelle, defeated NHRA Stock racer,
Robert Pare’. Pare’ another good racer posted a .041, 12.111 breakout on a 12.14
dial. Jon Siegel made the long trip from Smithtown, NY worthwhile finishing in
the semis to runner-up Pare’ and Sunoco Money Trail racer, Stephen Dunn drove
his 1968 Camaro to the semis.
