2016 Dutch Classic

The Pennsylvania Dutch Classic has been an annual event of Maple Grove Raceway’s schedule since 1971. That marks this year as the 45th anniversary as one of the oldest and most prestigious events on the NHRA sportsman schedule, the Dutch Classic, attracts hundreds of racers from across the country to compete.
The cool fall air makes for some of the quickest passes for the season and the NHRA record books. Fans who venture out for the 2016 Dodge NHRA Nationals can return the next weekend and witness these record breaking runs first hand. Since these two events are back to back, many of the same Sportsman cars fans see during Nationals continue the excitement less than a week later. Racing classes include Stock, Super Stock, Super Comp, Super Gas, Super Street, Top Sportsman and Top Dragster.
In addition to the Sportsman classes, the EFI Source Northeast Index Racers Series at the Grove return on Saturday and Sunday, October 8-9 for race number six. Index classes- 11.50, 10.00 and 8.50 racers have two days to perfect their car in hopes of making a trip to Victory Lane on Sunday. For those unfamiliar with Index racing, it has been described as doorbanger racing meets bracket racing. It is heads Heads-Up competition as both cars leave the starting line at the same time and run down the track to the finish line.
Racers begin arriving on Wednesday, October 5 to park from 4 to 8PM. On Thursday, October 6, a track operated Test and Tune will run from 10AM to 4PM, with a $75 fee for car and driver. Records can be set during the Test and Tune for Stock and Super Stock.
